Data Collection

Local Storage Only: SpendSee stores all your financial data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal financial information on our servers.

The following data is stored locally on your device:

• Transaction records (amounts, dates, categories, notes)
• Account information (names, balances, types)
• Budget data (goals, spending limits, due dates)
• Custom categories and preferences
• App settings (theme, currency, notification preferences)
• Receipt images (if you use the receipt scanning feature)

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide you with the core functionality of SpendSee:

• Track your income and expenses
• Manage your budgets and financial goals
• Generate analytics and insights about your spending
• Send optional budget reminder notifications (with your permission)
• Sync data across your devices via iCloud/Google Drive (optional)

Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties. Your financial information remains private and never leaves your device except:

• When you explicitly export a backup file
• When you use optional cloud sync features (iCloud for iOS, Google Drive for Android)

When you use cloud sync (iCloud/Google Drive), data is transmitted directly to your personal cloud storage - we never have access to it. Exported backup files are saved as plain JSON and are not encrypted. You should store backup files securely.

Receipt Scanning

If you use the premium receipt scanning feature:

• Receipt images are processed locally on your device using Apple Vision Framework (iOS) or ML Kit (Android)
• Images are not uploaded to our servers or any third-party service
• You can delete receipt images at any time from your device

In-App Purchases

Premium feature purchases are processed through:

• iOS: Apple App Store (subject to Apple's privacy policy)
• Android: Google Play Store (subject to Google's privacy policy)

We receive only anonymous transaction confirmation - no payment details are shared with us.

Permissions

SpendSee requests the following permissions:

• Camera: To scan receipts (premium feature, optional)
• Photo Library: To select receipt images for scanning (optional)
• Notifications: To send budget reminder alerts (premium feature, optional)
• Biometric Authentication: To unlock the app with Face ID/Touch ID/Fingerprint (premium feature, optional)

All permissions are requested only when needed and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings.

Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• All data is stored securely on your device using platform-standard database protection
• Optional passcode protection with SHA-256 hashing (premium feature)
• Biometric authentication support (Face ID, Touch ID, Fingerprint)
• No remote access to your data
• No cloud storage unless you explicitly enable iCloud/Google Drive sync

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your data within the app
• Export: Export your data as a JSON file at any time
• Delete: Delete all app data by uninstalling the app or using "Clear All Data" in settings
• Portability: Transfer your data to another device using the backup/restore feature

Children's Privacy

SpendSee is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Analytics and Tracking

We do not use analytics or tracking. SpendSee does not contain:

• Third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Advertising SDKs or tracking pixels
• Crash reporting services
• Usage tracking or telemetry

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top
• Showing an in-app notification (for significant changes)
