Getting Started with SpendSee

Learn how to setup SpendSee and start tracking your expenses in minutes

Welcome to SpendSee

SpendSee is your personal finance companion that helps you track expenses, manage budgets, and achieve your financial goals. This guide will help you get started in just a few minutes.

Download the App

SpendSee is available on both platforms:

  • iOS; Download from the App Store
  • Android: Download from Google Play Store

First Launch

When you first open SpendSee, you'll see a clean, intuitive interface with 5 main tabs:

  1. Records - View and add transactions
  2. Analysis - See spending insights and charts
  3. Budgets - Create and track budgets
  4. Accounts - Manage your accounts (cash, bank, credit cards)
  5. Settings - Customize your experience

Create Your First Account

Before tracking transactions, you need at least one account:

  1. Tap the Accounts tab
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Choose an account type (Cash, Bank, Credit Card, etc.)
  4. Enter a name (e.g., "Main Wallet", "Savings Account")
  5. Set your starting balance
  6. Choose an icon and color
  7. Tap Save

Add Your First Transaction

Now let's record your first expense:

  1. Go to the Records tab
  2. Tap the + button
  3. Enter the amount using the calculator
  4. Select transaction type:
    • Expense - Money you spent (red)
    • Income - Money you received (green)
    • Transfer - Move money between accounts (blue)
  5. Choose a category (e.g., Food, Transport, Shopping)
  6. Select the account
  7. Add a note (optional)
  8. Tap Save

That's it! You've recorded your first transaction.

Understanding Categories

SpendSee comes with 26 default categories:

Income Categories (7):

  • Salary, Lottery, Refunds, Rental, Gifts, Awards, Other

Expense Categories (19):

  • Bills, Food, Shopping, Transport, Entertainment, Health, Education, and more

You can also create custom categories with the Premium version.

Navigate by Month

Use the left/right arrows at the top of any screen to view different months. This helps you track your spending history over time.
